Welcome to A Cambodian Wedding! Well, not really a Cambodian wedding, but an informational site about it.

The inspiration for this site was came from my sister who got married this past June to her husband,who she dated for seven years before their big wedding day. The wedding was a two day affair. The Friday before the traditional American wedding there was a Cambodian wedding, also traditional in every sense.

The costumes were beautiful, the ceremony (as explained more here) stayed very true to the traditional Cambodian wedding, but most of all seeing the smiles on peoples faces as they shared in the day with my sister and her husband, that was what truly made my day.

I've never thought I'd about having a Cambodian wedding, as it requires a lot of time, manpower, and funds. However, after having seen many Cambodian weddings and being in two of them in two years, I've come to truly appreciate the tradition. Despite having to sit for long periods of time, I definitely think it's something everybody should experience if ever given the chance.

I hope that what this site offers can help you understand the history, customs, and overall meaning of each "act" in a Cambodian ceremony.
